Hi, my name is Dario .

I am Dario González Blanco — cybersecurity specialist and systems administrator. Since I was a kid I have had a close relationship with technology, and over the years it went from being a curiosity to being where I wanted to be.

At first every branch of computing interested me equally. What changed that was something that happened to me in 2022: I fell for a phishing attack and was robbed. For what I had back then it was a lot of money, but what stayed with me was not the figure — it was the feeling.

Thinking about the thousands of people who go through that every day, many with a far smaller margin than I had, is what settled my direction. Since then I have worked in security with a fairly specific goal: that it does not happen to somebody else.

I graduated in Network Systems Administration in 2025 , where I built the systems and networking foundation everything else rests on, while studying security on my own. It was a stretch I shared with people heading the same way .

That is where my first piece of work in the field came from: “Las dos caras de la Moneda”, a book explaining attacks and defences side by side so an incident can be read from both ends . I would do it differently today, because my level back then is not the one I have now, and that is a good sign — but it still shows where I was heading.

I then started a master's in cyber intelligence, practising on LetsDefend and Hack The Box while earning the CompTIA Security+ and Blue Team Level 1 certifications. My thesis was a full modelling and characterisation of the Lazarus APT group , with its complete MITRE ATT&CK matrix: motivations, capabilities and TTPs.

I am Spanish and speak English at native level, certified with Cambridge's Certificate of Proficiency in English .

Outside work I compete in arcade rhythm games. That hobby has taught me more about unconventional systems than it sounds: I have ended up maintaining both the hardware and the software , repairing arcade cabinets and building my own controllers from scratch, from the design to the logic to the finished thing .
